Peter Sardi's School Of Acting
Working Alongside Peter
Working alongside Peter Sardi has been a transformative experience for me, as I have been able to witness firsthand his passion for the craft and his dedication to nurturing the talents of young actors. Together, we strive to create a supportive and inspiring environment where students can explore their creativity and develop their skills to the fullest. Our partnership is built on a shared commitment to our students, and we are proud to be able to pass on our knowledge and our experience. Our teaching philosophy is centred around the idea that learning is a two-way street. While we impart our knowledge and expertise to our students, we also learn from them in return. They challenge us in a way that pushes the boundaries of our own creativity. ~ Sophie Sardi
In this video Sophie discusses Ivaan's Monologue.
We analyse Ivaan's inner turmoil and how this connects to the themes of the play as a whole.
ONLINE CLASSES ~ Working on original material.
The online class platform has given me the unique opportunity to write and develop original scenes and characters for some of our long standing students. The story line, character portrayals and the relationships between characters continues to evolve. I have been able to use my imagination to create the content for these classes but I have to say that the actor’s contribution and input has been invaluable in giving these scenes greater depth and meaning. Working on original material is not something that is common in acting classes. It is inspired by the very actors we’ve grown to love over the years. It’s an ensemble in its truest sense, a community of like minded creative souls. A family of actors who are able to come home whenever they feel the need.
What it is to be truly seen as an actor?
Eliminating self consciousness is an important part of the process for the actor. One specific acting exercise we’ve utilised over many years, affectionately called the ‘bull ring,’ has enabled the actor to primarily work from his/her body first, the mind second. ACTOR SHOWREEL
‘Annie Wobbler’ by Arnold Wesker.
Sophie Performed a 35 minute monologue from this play in front of an audience in June 2004. At the time she was studying under the tutelage of Peter Sardi. An extraordinarily difficult piece, she was able to sensitively capture the spirit of ‘Annie Wobbler.’
*This is a 5 minute except from the monologue that was originally 35 minutes long.
